Indian Fashion LookBook: An ode to Indian Independence, 15.8.2018.

Happy Indian Independence Day 2018!

Fashion is the biggest form of Art there is.
I am extremely proud of my Indian roots and culture that have lent me the creative expression to show my Indian fashion sensibilities.

India as a country and culture has such beautiful and diverse fashion elements that, any one look is not enough to do complete justice to it.

Various textiles, fabrics, silhouettes, artistry and embroideries as stand alone pieces and a stunning mix of two or all of them are used in various different occasions to truly experience Indian Fashion.

Contemporary and fusion designs are also such an eclectic mix of the old with the new that it’s remarkable how Indian fashion always finds its place in today’s global fashion scenario.

I can go on endlessly about this- how a sari is always a classic timeless piece, how silk and brocades are now used to make trousers and pants with tops to lend an Indian old worldly fashion statement to an otherwise good old common formal trouser and top look, how dresses are being made with Indian block, batik and tie and dye prints, how mirror work and gotta patti is found in modern bohemian apparels, how chikankari work is being used extensively in bridal wear; Indian fashion aspects are being showcased everywhere with grandeur and grace all around the world- I am trying to flaunt a small part here in this blog post, of all the Indian looks I have sported so far, some of them in colours of white green and blue of the Indian flag as well ✨

All these pictures have found their place in different blog posts by me yet here I am on this day of Indian Independence doing a small recap of my Indian looks so far.
Hope you like the details and enjoy them.

With love from a proud Indian🙏🏻💖
